Sunday of the Forefathers

Colossians 3:4–11 | Luke 14:16–24

A lesson in carrying the ancient promise forward—faith as a lantern in our hands.

When Christ appears, says Saint Paul, our true life is revealed with Him. We are called to put off the old garments of division and anger, and to be renewed in the image of the One who gathers all things into Himself.

In the Gospel, the Master prepares a banquet whose invitation stretches far beyond expectation. Those who turn away make room for those who never imagined they would be welcomed. The feast is ready; the door is open.

And today, we remember the Forefathers—Abraham and all who heard God’s promise long before they saw its fulfillment. Their quiet, steadfast faith lights the way for us still, guiding us toward the Kingdom that welcomes all nations, all hearts, all who will come.

All are welcome. Come and see.
