Sunday of the Samaritan Woman

A meeting at the well becomes a spring that cannot be contained.

 Readings

Epistle: Acts 11:19–30

The Gospel begins to stretch beyond its familiar borders. In Antioch, hearts open, and the name “Christian” is spoken for the first time. What was once scattered becomes gathered—what was hidden begins to grow.

Gospel: John 4:5–42

At the well, in the heat of the day, Jesus Christ meets a woman no one expects Him to speak to.

Photini the Samaritan Woman comes for water… and leaves with something entirely different.

“Give me a drink,” He says—

and in that simple request, a whole life is uncovered.

Not to shame her.

But to reveal her.

To offer her living water—

a spring that does not run dry.

 Spiritual Anchor

A lesson in being known—and not turned away.

 A Thread to Hold

She leaves her water jar behind.

Because when you find the Source,

you no longer cling to the container.

What once defined her…

becomes the very place where grace begins.
