Sunday Divine Liturgy
October 18, 2026 | Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke
A lesson in the joy of belonging.
When the seventy disciples return rejoicing in the extraordinary things they have accomplished in Christ’s name, Jesus gently redirects their joy. The greatest gift is not what they have been given the power to do, but that their names are written in heaven.
This Sunday, as we commemorate St. Luke the Evangelist, we are reminded that our lives in Christ are not measured by our accomplishments, but by our communion with Him.
Epistle: Colossians 4:5–11, 14–18
St. Paul calls us to walk in wisdom and speak with grace, reminding us that even our ordinary encounters can bear witness to Christ.
Gospel: Luke 10:16–21
Christ reminds His disciples that true joy is found not in earthly success or spiritual power, but in belonging to the Kingdom of Heaven.
