September 20 | Sunday after the Elevation of the Holy Cross

The Cross is not merely something we behold—it is the path by which we follow Christ.

In the Epistle, St. Paul declares, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Our life in Christ is not something we earn through our own goodness; it is received through faith and lived in loving surrender.

In the Gospel, Christ speaks plainly: “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” He does not promise an easy road, but He promises that the way of the Cross leads to true and everlasting life.

 Epistle: Galatians 2:16–20

 Gospel: Mark 8:34–38; 9:1

All are welcome. Come and see.
